Deeptime Day

Walk through the history of the earth and marvel at the wonder of being alive. Use this as a stepping stone to explore what matters most to you whilst you are here on this wonderful planet. An opportunity to zoom all the way out and then all the way back in and leave with a sense of clarity and vigour about what you want to do with your time and energy.

What will it look like?

The morning will be a Deeptime Walk (www.deeptimewalk.org) that traces the history of the Earth through its 4.6 billion years. This is translated into a 4.6km walk through stunning scenery with the Lakeland Fells as a backdrop where every metre we walk equates to 1 million years. The walk can do many things; it can help us to recognise this life as precious and encourage us to ask questions on how we are using the time we have.

Lunch will be round the cosy campfire in the woods at Footprint Windermere. Through experiential activities during the afternoon we will have time to reflect on what the walk meant to us and what thoughts and feelings it generated. Having spent the morning with such a long, wide perspective the afternoon offers time to focus in on the details and reflect on the life around us and how interconnected we are with everything on this planet.

This is a positive opportunity to step back and look afresh at what matters most and how we can support the parts of our lives that bring us joy and fulfilment.

Slowing down and noticing isn't just good for my health - it also reveals opportunities I hadn't seen or even imagined.
