Schools Environmental Education Sessions
We work in partnership with the National Trust to deliver schools sessions at Footprint, Windermere in its beautiful woodland camp with canopies in case of rain, and in the inspiring strawbale learning space. We also travel to schools to deliver sessions.
Stone Age to Iron Age
An inspiring, authentic, hands-on experience to link in with the KS2 curriculum. Children will discover how people lived, learn core skills and experiment with techniques from the era.
The day will be an inspiring mix of exploration, bushcraft, fire lighting, and natural arts and crafts. Explore the woodland environment and learn to use tools to make things out of natural materials. Age appropriate projects will give each child something to take home with them.
Anglo Saxons and Vikings
Authentic and innovative hands-on day linked with the KS2 curriculum. Train to be a Viking warrior, cast your own Saxon coin, create a quill and natural ink and decipher ancient runes, discover techniques to weave natural wools.
A day of exploring and deepening connection to our natural world and our place within it. Connecting emotionally by awakening your senses and awareness using games and exploration. Discovering the wonderful biodiversity around us. Stream life, insects, tree and plant ID, Animal Tracking.
Living Willow Structures
We design and create bespoke living willow structures for schools, gardens and open spaces. Domes, Tunnels, Outdoor classrooms, Living hedges...Creating special spaces on your school grounds
Environmental Arts Days/ Projects
Create beautiful things to take back to school whilst exploring the ecosystem of the woodland habitat... We also love working with schools over a longer period, being involved in art projects, interpreting environmental awareness, habitat, ecology and sustainability. School Bushcraft Camp Residential
Two days of fun and memorable experiences. Learn effective fire-lighting and bushcraft skills, build and sleep in your own shelter, greenwood carving skills, campfire cooking (food incl.), nature walk and storytelling.
A session based around sustainable design, thinking and resource use. Using the inspirational Footprint building as a stimulus we will explore the materials and choices made in its design and construction.
