Experience the River

In partnership with South Cumbria Rivers Trust

Working with four local schools we discovered loads of brilliant creatures living in the rivers close to each school. We studied the river ecology and went river dipping to survey the different species. We then collated everything we'd discovered to create giant multimedia hanging artworks. We sketched the creatures we had surveyed and developed these into block prints while learning about the printmaking process. We also used natural materials to create models of river based invertebrates and used river water to make our own natural dyes.
